Kettering University Pinnacle Tournament: Frozen Faceoff

Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. Registration and payments should be made through the RECF Events website.

Pre-order lunch vouchers for all-you-can-eat lunch (one time through) at the Kettering Battenburg Cafe in the Learning Commons are $12 each and will be available for purchase on Kettering's Site after September 20, 2026. Please choose the correct date for your event. The cafe offers a wide variety of food (including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and more) and beverages. Vouchers have no expiration date - if you plan to attend future events at Kettering, you will be able to use leftover vouchers at that time. Additionally lunch can be purchased at the door for $14.00. Outside food is permitted in both the Robotics Center and Learning Commons, but there will NOT be a dedicated place or outlets for your Team to set up your own food service. Sternos or other warming devices are NOT permitted.

Teams MUST be checked in by 8:30, as the Match Schedule will be finalized at that time and will not be re-run. If your team is running late, call the Event Partner or the match schedule will be run WITHOUT your team.

Please note that the Skills Field will be open during Qualification Matches.

• All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Digital Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event.

• Digital Engineering Notebook links must be submitted by the Primary or Secondary Contact through the Coach's Dashboard on recfevents.org by December 2, 2026 @ 5:00 pm.

• Content that is uploaded after December 2, 2026 may not be eligible for Judging consideration.

• Each Team will have an opportunity for an in-person interview with the Judges.

Event Cancellation:

If weather or a local emergency cause us to cancel or modify the schedule for this event, we will update this event's recfevents.org general information page. Please check the recfevents.org General Information page before traveling to Kettering University for possible notice of a delayed event start time, cancellation, or rescheduling of the event due to inclement weather or local emergency.

Notice will be posted by 5:00 AM the morning of the event (or sooner if the decision is made).

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Should this Kettering University RECF Achieve Tournament be canceled, refunds in the amount of $95 will be issued.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event and then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

There will be no refund.
